Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Franklin, VA
The candidate selected for this position will have thorough knowledge of industrial electrical devices, PLC programming, and servo controls. Job duties require planning and conducting independent work -- requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The individual hired will devise new approaches to problems, and create or modify drawings, programs, specifications, and calculations.
Essential responsibilities include understanding hardware and software products, and developing/programming controls and automation including PLCs, AC/DC drives, servo systems, HMI products, and safety devices. Additionally, the position will help with development of new machines and in-house projects from concept to completion, as well as existing product improvements/upgrades.
Requirements
Ability to travel when required for machine installations, development projects, and advanced troubleshooting
Some international travel required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred but not required
3-5 years related experience in Electrical Engineering, PLC programming, and servo controls. Proficiency in web handling fields is desirable
Ability to interpret and recommended changes to electrical drawings and P&ID
Strong communication skills with ability to explain and document technical concepts
Strong organizational skills with ability to plan projects and follow timelines
Live in, or willing to relocate to Northeast Wisconsin
