With a new state-of-the-art facility in Livermore, we are a well-respected and growing semiconductor manufacturer looking for an Automation Engineering Manager to work onsite. You will manage a technically diverse team of automation professionals supporting past, current, and ongoing customer needs as well as chart the technical direction of the Automation Engineering department.
The ideal candidate will have been an Engineer that has moved into management and has experience managing a smaller engineering team.

- Familiarity with engineering processes, including document control procedures, and source code control, like Git.
- Experience leading and motivating individual contributors, maximizing their unique strengths, and mentoring where needed to drive continuous improvement.
- Very strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and understand assembly drawings and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with ultra-low pressure vacuum systems and vacuum measurement is highly desired.
- Solid foundation in basic electronics, passive components, NPN/PNP switches, as well as electrical power distribution, transformers, relays, contactors, and circuit breakers.
- Competence and confidence to troubleshoot basic electrical and electronic circuits using schematics and DMM.
- Possess an aptitude to acquire new technical knowledge organically and a desire for lifelong learning.
7-15 years of experience in the following:
- Automation, Robotics, HMI, Factory Automation
- Controls Systems - Embedded, Industrial
- PLC, I/O Modules, Subsystems
- Microprocessors, DSP, Board-level Software
- Embedded C - RTOS
Nice to have:
- I2C - SPI - RS-232
- Visual Studio - C# - .NET - WPF - WinForms
- T-SQL, ADO.NET, LINQ, PowerShell
- Ultra-low pressure vacuum systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field
- Salary: $160,000 - $175,000 base (tops out at 175k base)
