Title: Licensed Electrical Engineer - MEP Consulting Firm - SKM/ETAP/Easy Power
Location: Rockville, MD 20850
Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 + Bonus
Founded in 1995 we are a 30 employee minority business owned MEP engineering design firm that provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire life safety planning, design & commissioning services for clients in the metro DC area. Our headcount has grown 26% in the past 2 years as we expand further into the private sector & government clients. Our portfolio ranges from small tenant fit-outs to large law firms & corporate HQ build-outs. Our big market sectors include commercial, government, institutional, higher ed and healthcare. For this Licensed Electrical Engineer position, we're targeting to hire a seasoned engineer with experience in the commercial & public sector to help manage projects and grow our business.
What You Will Be Doing
Design & draft mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, infrastructure & structured cabling systems using Revit & AutoCAD
Coordinate w/ other engineers/designers (both in office & w/ other consultants)
Manual & computer calculations incl: lighting & power studies (Visual for lighting & SKM for power)
Field verification of existing systems
Preparation of project related correspondence
Work w/ clients to maintain their confidence & control their expectations
Development of new clients & work
What You Need for this Position
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of experience with SKM/ETAP/Easy Power
7+ years' experience as Electrical Engineer working in commercial & public sector
Experience working at a consulting engineering / MEP firm
Knowledge of codes & standards incl: national, international & local jurisdictional electrical codes + NFPA codes
Experience developing performance-based solutions
Project management experience is a plus
Professional Engineer license
CxA preferred (commissioning authority)
