Job Title: Metrology Technician
Job Location: Ithaca, NY
Job Salary: $50,000-$75,000 (non-exempt, OT after 40 hours)
Requirements:
1.) 2+ years experience as a Metrology Technician or similar
2.) Ability to read and understand blueprints
3.) Able to write/edit CMM programs on current parts, new parts
4.) Basic GD&T training/knowledge
5.) Able to perform full layout of parts based on blueprint requirements
6.) Able to maintain inventory of repair and replacement parts
Job Summary:
The Metrology Technician is responsible for the accuracy and operational status of all inspection, gauging, and measuring equipment used in the manufacturing processes ensuring that all components and assemblies produced meet specifications.
Responsible for repair of all gauging, inspection, and measuring equipment and must possess good mechanical skills.
Responsible to write / edit CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) PCDMIS programs on current and new parts based on blueprint requirements and applicable GD&T rules/guidelines.
Utilizes the following gauges and measuring equipment during the manufacturing and inspection processes.
Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), Vision based CMM measurement machine (Vision CMM), Load cell calibration, LVDTs, Airflow Gages, Height Gauges, Dial Indicators, Plug Gauges, Micrometers, etc.
Responsible for utilizing the computer driven gauge control program, compiles and maintains accurate and current data concerning all inspection, gauging, and measuring equipment.
Based on data, ensures that a dimensional and functional inspection is performed at specified frequencies.
Supervise the reproducibility studies and maintains data in the computer.
Determine if part/product needs recalibration, replacement, or repair.
Advises supervisor of any corrective action necessary.
