Position: Project Estimator
Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project costs and the ability to accurately estimate the budget for construction projects. The Project Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates, managing procurement and supply chain activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer-based software, such as Revit, to accurately estimate project costs based on construction drawings and project measurements.
- Manage procurement activities, including negotiating prices and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain inventory control and track project materials to ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze construction plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide project cost updates and address any concerns or issues.
- Use problem-solving skills to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues with project cost estimates.
- Utilize strong time management skills to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of cost estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project estimating in the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in computer skills and experience working with computer-based software, such as Revit.
- Excellent knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
- Experience in procurement and negotiation.
- Familiarity with supply chain management and inventory control.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze complex transactions and provide accurate cost estimates.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
