Position Overview:
We are seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee and coordinate the construction of a specific project within the water and waste water treatment sector. Ideal candidates should have experience in water and waste water construction, particularly in excavation, underground piping, concrete forming, and process equipment installation. The Project Superintendent will lead skilled trade teams and subcontractors, ensuring optimal performance and project outcomes. This role requires strong planning abilities and collaboration with project teams. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely project delivery that adheres to scope and budget constraints.
Collaborate closely with the project manager to effectively manage construction activities.
Report and escalate any issues to the management team as necessary.
Maintain positive relationships with clients, team members, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Analyze specifications and drawings to develop construction plans, including timelines and staffing needs.
Schedule and oversee each construction phase from initiation to completion, coordinating daily tasks and inspections.
Plan and execute concrete construction tasks using various formwork techniques.
Manage the installation of different types of equipment.
Oversee complex piping installations and excavation operations.
Provide updates on job progress, safety inspections, wage classifications, workplace injuries, and disciplinary matters.
Ensure equipment maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
Coordinate the timely receipt of labor and materials, managing the ordering and delivery/pickup process.
Conduct ongoing onsite monitoring and quality control; manage and resolve punch lists and proactively address potential issues.
Attend management meetings related to site development.
Maintain thorough knowledge of SDS and OSHA regulations; implement safety guidelines and programs; enforce safety measures and conduct regular safety meetings with staff.
Oversee general job and employee scheduling in collaboration with the labor coordinator.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on water and wastewater construction projects or similar civil projects.
Educational background in construction management is preferred; equivalent experience from journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent may also be acceptable.
Strong technical background with practical problem solving skills and hands on experience.
Excellent communication skills for client and internal interactions.
Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
