Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer with expertise in manufacturing and aerospace/Defense industry production to manage procurement processes for our organization. 

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in sourcing materials and negotiating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency, while adhering to industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• This is BOTH a PLANNER and a BUYER role where the ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge and experience procuring, sourcing and planning for timely delivery of CNC Manufacturing raw materials including Metals, Stainless steel, Special Alloys, Aluminum and other Chemicals for processing.

  This role is match for those with the experience/ability to learn how to look at a manufacturing specs sheet and to know what is needed and when.

• ALWAYS BE NEGOTIATING - The ability and the comfort with Negotiating with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints is both experience and ability we must see in this role.

   

• Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to optimize purchasing processes and inventory management.
• Collaborate with planning and production teams to forecast material requirements and maintain adequate stock levels.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, monitoring performance and addressing any issues that arise.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance data to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations related to procurement and supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is desired.
• Looking for a MIX of Planning/Scheduling and BUYER experience...NOT just a purchasing role, but there is a lot more planning, negotiating, working with timing, etc.
• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing role, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiations.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
• Experience with MRP and ERP systems for planning and inventory management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
