You will oversee and assist in the development of the forging process for medical device items. To ensure a successful launch, this position will handle the technical elements of new projects and products. Key performance indicators that will be monitored include safety, profit/margin, scrap, quality, and production efficiency.
- Determine the die cavity volumes' dimensional values, finish, and thermal expansion.
- Assist the design team in creating dies and other tools.
- Assist forge personnel with the creation and manufacturing of every forged product.
- Assist in developing the technical elements of new programs and projects (NPI) connected to the forging process to ensure their successful launch. This involves adhering to internal APQP procedures and ensuring that critical metrics like lead time, safety, margin, scrap, quality, and manufacturing efficiency are met.
- Maintain desired KPIs for quality, delivery, and financial success by providing support for historical product lines.
- Take the lead in resolving problems with forge manufacturing through departmental collaboration.
At least 3+ years of experience with a combination of the following:
- Forging processes
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- GD&T
- CAD (Siemens NX, Solidworks, Unigraphics, etc.)
- Specialty alloys including Titanium, Stainless Steel, Cobalt Chromium, etc.
