Senior Electronics Procurement Specialist


We are currently seeking a Senior level Purchasing/Procurement professional with a background buying/sourcing Electronics components, parts, materials for a local manufacturing firm in Orange County, CA.

We are looking for a candidate with a solid level of technical understanding/experience, with the technical ability to both READ and describe examples for drawings, equipment processes and complexity in bill of materials (BOMs).

The ideal candidate will be able to address concerns/challenges with our current external partners, but also able to support internal production processes and challenges, including activities that may be required to successfully maintain stock/supply various client needs/programs: via activities such as inventory counts, RMA/return material authorizations, quality testing , etc.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process of electronic components and materials, ensuring timely availability to support production and development activities. 

This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Some of what we would like this hire to take care of, includes:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for electronic components, including PCB, PCA, wire cables, finished goods, and raw materials.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
• Analyze market trends to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and align procurement with production schedules.
• Utilize ERP and MRP systems to track inventory levels and procurement activities effectively.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the electronics industry.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement processes, and supply chain management principles.
• Experience with ERP and MRP systems for inventory and procurement management.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Familiarity with electronic components such as PCB, PCA, wire cables, and finished goods.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
