Position Overview
The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment. The technician will work closely with patients to ensure a comfortable and safe experience while obtaining high-quality images for interpretation by physicians. This role involves maintaining imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with medical staff in a hospital or clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician requests.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
- Operate X-ray equipment and ensure its proper functioning and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the X-ray department.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to discuss imaging results and patient care.
- Assist in the training of new staff and students in X-ray procedures and safety.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited X-Ray Technician program.
- Valid state licensure and certification in Radiologic Technology.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
